At Washington Catholic, we believe that athletics provides an excellent opportunity for our young people to develop mentally, physically and spiritually while at the same time learning valuable life lessons like teamwork, morality, sportsmanship, discipline, time management and so much more.

Athletics at Washington Catholic are simply an extension of the academic classroom. We are blessed to have coaches who utilize coaching techniques to teach their student-athletes lessons that will benefit them far beyond their days as Washington Cardinals.

We invite parents and students to experience first-hand our dedication to sportsmanship by attending one of the many competitions that we host at Washington Catholic.

Letter From JSOH

Parents, Family, Guardians, Coaches, and Faculty of Washington Catholic High School Athletes,

My name is Brandy Ramaj Jewett, I am a certified athletic trainer who will be serving all Cardinal athletic teams. I would like to introduce myself and thank you for welcoming me as a part of your school and athletics. I graduated from Washington High School in 2011, received my Bachelor’s degree from Franklin College in 2015 and Master’s in Athletic Training from Indiana Wesleyan in 2019. I started my career serving North Daviess HS athletics in 2016 and am currently the head athletic trainer for Cougar athletics. I have a passion for high school sports and am thrilled to be serving Cardinal athletes! I will be on-site at WCHS once per week for evaluations, treatments, tapings, and organization of care for all injuries your athletes may sustain. For now, I plan to be available on Wednesdays at 5:30. Additionally, I will be available for consultation as needed and am willing to report onsite for cases that need my attention before my scheduled onsite day. I am nationally certified and licensed to practice athletic training in the State of Indiana.

An Athletic Trainer plays various important roles in the care of athletes. This includes essential elements like injury evaluation and recognition, emergency care, rehabilitation, and prevention of injury or harm. One of the most vital things an Athletic Trainer does for your athlete is provide a support system of care and protection on and off the field. Athletes come first! Every time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me! Keeping open communication with you about the care of your child is a top priority for me and further assists me in providing the best care possible for your child.

If your athlete sustains an injury, I will communicate with coaches, yourself, and your child to provide the best possible care. Some injuries may require referral to a physician, while others can be managed with proper care at home and at the school with me. If a referral is needed for an athletic injury, I am more than happy to facilitate an appointment with the appropriate healthcare provider. I have established positive working relationships with several orthopedic providers in the area and will work with you and your child to facilitate care, as necessary. Access to health care providers trained in sports medicine allows for efficient and comprehensive care of athletic injuries and direct communication back to me. If your child needs orthopedic consult, please reach out to me! I am here to serve you and your athlete.

Building strong relationships and trust with athletes, coaches, parents, and the community is important to me and vital to ensuring you are getting the most out of the services I provide. I truly enjoy providing athletic training services and promise to dedicate myself to the well-being of your child. I am grateful and fortunate to be serving your athletes.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Please contact me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you all.
