Washington Catholic High School
& Middle School News
Make a Difference
Our goal is to try to regularly fill
parents in on what is happening
around school. Until we find a catchy
name, we will just call it the “news”.
We hope to have this out to you at
least bi-weekly. Some items will be
directed to certain grades. For
example, you will find an article today
addressed to Senior Parents. We will
always try to find good news items to
report.
2010 ACT Scores above State and
National Average
Mr. Adams has just received the 2010
ACT Graduating Class Profile
Report. This profile compares last
year’s graduates from Washington
Catholic to all those who took the test
in the state and nation. Many high
schools in Indiana encourage only
their strongest academic students to
take the ACT, sometimes inflating the
scores. That makes our graduates’
scores even better than they seem.
Six 2010 WC graduates comprising
38% of the class took the test,
recording a composite score of 25.1.
The state average score was 22.3 and
the national score was 21.0.
Congratulations to the Class of 2010
for scoring well above both the state
and national averages!
Attention Senior Parents
Each senior has a file folder in the
high school office. The seniors have
been shown these folders and where
they are located. Each folder contains
important college and scholarship
information. Mrs. Craney has asked
Seniors to clean out the folders and
take the information home to share
with parents at least once a week.
Parents are welcome to come to the
office and look through the folders at
their convenience.
Also, please check out the guidance
page on wccardinals.org. It can be
found in the left column on the
Washington Catholic High School
home page. A complete list of
Indiana colleges and universities can
be accessed from the guidance home
page. The list contains direct links to
each college or university’s on-line
application and also scholarship
opportunities. We hope that this tool
will be very useful to seniors and
parents as they apply to college.
Sports Schedules on Line
Sports schedules can be found on the
school homepage. Athletic Director
Randy Pontius has been working hard
to verify dates and times. We will try
to make changes as we find any errors.
